“Life, at its best, is a flowing, changing process in which nothing is fixed.”
― Carl R. Rogers
My Approach
As a coach, certified by the AKST - Akademie für Psychotherapy und Sexual Therapy, I am looking forward to supporting you in your personal journey and assist in your development. My preferred method of connecting to you is the person-centred therapy (PCT) that was developed by Carl Rogers, one of the founders of humanistic psychology. This method is based on these fundamental pillars.
Empathic Understanding
Empathic understanding - Empathy is the ability to deeply understand and share another person’s feelings. In coaching, this means the coach steps into the client’s world, seeing things from their perspective without imposing their own views. Rogers emphasized that accurate empathy is essential for meaningful change.
Actualization Tendency
Actualization tendency – we all have the capacity to decide our own best direction in life, provided that circumstances are conducive to this, based on the organism's "universal need to drive or self-maintain, flourish, self-enhance and self-protect". We hold the answer within. Rogers believed that every individual has an innate drive to reach their full potential. Self-actualization is the process of becoming the best version of oneself, driven by personal growth, autonomy, and fulfillment. When people are in an environment that supports congruence, empathy, and unconditional positive regard, they are more likely to achieve self-actualization.
Acceptance
Acceptance – unconditional positive regard is the basic acceptance and support of a person regardless of what the person says or does. The therapist accepts the client unconditionally, without judgment, disapproval, or approval. This facilitates increased self-regard in the client, as they can begin to become aware of experiences in which their view of self-worth was distorted or denied. This is the acceptance and support of a person without judgment, regardless of their thoughts, emotions, or behaviors. Rogers believed that when individuals experience unconditional acceptance, they feel safe enough to explore their true selves and grow psychologically
Congruence
Congruence – genuineness and authenticity of the coach The coach is congruent within the coaching relationship; the coach is deeply involved—they are not "acting"—and they can draw on their own experiences to facilitate the relationship. Congruence refers to authenticity—the coach must be genuine and transparent in their interactions. This means they do not put on a professional facade but instead express their true thoughts and feelings appropriately. When a coach is congruent, it fosters trust and encourages the client to be open and honest
I Listen
Listening to someone isn't just about hearing their words—it's about truly understanding and being present. It means setting aside distractions and giving them space to express themselves. When you listen with patience, you make the other person feel valued, heard, and supported. The best way to help isn't to offer advice, but simply to listen. It fosters understanding, strengthens relationships, and builds trust. When you truly listen—without distractions or rushing to respond you show respect and making others feel valued and heard.
I Speak
Speaking to someone is more than just sharing words—it's about connecting. Whether you're expressing ideas, offering support, or simply making conversation, the way you speak shapes the interaction. Clarity, kindness, and sincerity make your words impactful. A good conversation isn't just about talking; it's about engaging, listening, and fostering understanding. Choose your words thoughtfully, and speak with intention.
