Sexual Responses
Counselling addresses how sexual response works psychologically & biologically. Topics include arousal, desire, orgasm, erectile function or dysfunction, lubrication, dyspareunia, vaginismus, the effects of hormones, medications, stress, sleep on sexuality. Sexual response models (Masters & Johnson, Basson, etc.).
Relationship Dynamics
Sexual health is deeply linked to relationship patterns. We explore attachment styles, emotional intimacy, trust, resentment, power dynamics, discrepancies in desire and how these topics impact your life. With the goal of helping couples build secure, connected erotic sex lives and deeper intimacy.
Sex/Porn Addiction
Include compulsive sexual behaviours like cybersex, masturbation, casual sex, pornography use. Loss of control is the inability to stop or reduce these sexual behaviours despite attempts. Negative consequences are problems at work, school, or in relationships, feelings of guilt, shame, or anxiety. Escapism is using sex to cope with stress, emotional pain, or boredom. Porn addiction is also called problematic pornography use or compulsive pornography consumption refers to a pattern where the use of porn becomes compulsive, excessive, and disruptive to daily life, relationships, or mental health. It is not just frequent viewing -the key issues are loss of control, distress, & negative consequences.
Sexual Dysfunctions
Sexual dysfunction refers to persistent difficulties that interfere with a person’s ability to experience sexual desire, arousal, orgasm, or satisfaction in a way that feels healthy and fulfilling. It can affect individuals of any gender, sexual orientation, or relationship status. Sexual dysfunction is typically recognized when the difficulty is ongoing or recurrent, causes personal distress, occurs in a variety of situations (not only under extreme conditions), or leads to problems in relationships or wellbeing.
